Mazda unveiled two new EVs, the EZ-6 electric sedan and the Arata SUV, at the Beijing Auto Show. Although Mazda’s new EVs are for China, they are what the brand is missing in the US. Mazda’s first EV in the US, the MX-30, was discontinued after only 66 models were sold last year. It was only on the market for about two years.

The current Mazda 6 has reached the point of obsolescence and has been discontinued in most markets. At Auto China in Beijing, the new luxury sedan from Mazda, named the EZ-6 with an electric drive, was introduced.

At the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Changan Mazda Automobile Corporation Ltd. revealed the Mazda EZ-6 sedan and the Arata concept. As a joint venture between Mazda and Changan Mazda,

The rear-wheel-drive Mazda EZ-6 goes on sale in China later this year with the choice between plug-in hybrid and electric power.
