The Biden administration is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine that is expected to be worth around $1 billion, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

The US is in talks with close partners to lead a group of allies that would give as much as $50 billion in aid to Ukraine, with the massive outlay being repaid with the windfall profits from sovereign Russian assets that have been frozen – and are accruing interest — mostly in Europe.

Ukraine has been rationing ammunition and bullets; meanwhile the Russian army has been using 'human wave' tactics by sending poorly trained recruits to the frontline in a bid to force Ukraine use up all of its ammunition.
