In a May 14 letter to U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor, who oversaw the agreement, the Justice Department states that Boeing failed to “design, implement, and enforce a compliance and ethics program to prevent and detect violations of the U.S. fraud laws throughout its operations” which was a part of the agreement.

Boeing faces possible criminal prosecution after the US Justice Department found the company violated a deferred-prosecution agreement tied to two fatal crashes half a decade ago, intensifying the crisis engulfing the embattled US plane maker.

The DOJ sent a letter to Federal District Judge Reed O’Connor in Texas stating that Boeing breached its obligations under the Deferred Prosecution Agreement.
