F ormer Premier League tactician Jesse Marsch was named head coach of the Canadian men's national team on Monday. The American joins Canada Soccer in time for June's Copa America on U.S. soil with a contract that will keep him at the helm through the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The American, who formerly coached Leeds United and in the Red Bull system, will take over before Canada's pre-Copa America friendlies

MetLife is no stranger to hosting international tournaments as it is set to host the world's biggest sporting event in the summer of 2026, the World Cup final. The New Jersey stadium will also host seven other matches, five in the group stages, one in the round of 32 and one in the round of 16.
