Record-setting heat and strong to severe thunderstorms are a possibility across the Lowcountry Thursday afternoon.

The Tornado Watch is extended south into more of Central Georgia and Alabama already. It will likely keep getting extended farther south as the day goes on. Daytime heating and abundant moisture will provide fuel for more showers and more storms. This is only the first wave of showers and storms we are expecting.
