Japanese video-game maker Nintendo said Tuesday that it will make an announcement about a successor to its Switch home console sometime before March 2025.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa says the company will announce its next gaming console before the end of March next year. Its actual on-sale date could be further out, however.

The Japanese videogame maker expects net profit to drop 39% for the fiscal year started in April, on expectations of weaker sales of Switch consoles and software.

Nintendo said on Tuesday it expects to sell 13.5 million Switch consoles in the financial year ending March 2025.
