The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team’s season came to an end after falling to the Stanford Cardinal in the Women’s College World Series.

For the first time this season, Alabama softball was shut out, and it cost Team 27 its season. After a legendary career, which included an iconic moment in Oklahoma City, Montana Fouts ended her career with a loss in the Women's College World Series.

Fouts delivered a gutsy performance in her final game for Alabama (45-22), which went 0-2 in Oklahoma City, having lost 10-5 to fourth-seeded Tennessee in the WCWS opener a day earlier. The Tide were the first to be knocked out of the eight-team field in Oklahoma City.

The 2023 season has ended for Patrick Murphy and the Alabama softball as the Crimson Tide took a 2-0 loss to Stanford on Friday night from Oklahoma City in the Women’s College World Series. The conclusion of the season also brings the end of the Montana Fouts era of Alabama softball.
