An Alaska man was charged and arrested Wednesday for sending numerous graphic and violent messages through a public Supreme Court communications portal that threatened to injure and kill six justices,

It remained unclear whether the man, Panos Anastasiou, came close to carrying out his threats, and public records indicate that he is not affiliated with any political party.

In one alleged message, sent May 17, Anastasiou said he wanted to drive by a justice’s house with fellow Vietnam War veterans and spray the property with AR-15 gunfire.
