A Florida deputy who was ambushed during a welfare check at a home early last month that left one deputy dead and another wounded has been released from the hospital.

Lake County Deputy 1st Class Stefano Gargano, who was critically shot after being while attempting to rescue Deputy Bradley Link after an Aug. 2 ambush in Tavares, has been released from the hospital.

Lake County Deputy Stefano Gargano was all smiles as he was released from the hospital on Monday – one month after he and other deputies were shot in an “ambush" attack at a home in Eustis.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Stefano Gargano has been released from the hospital a month after an ambush.

A woman charged in connection to a deadly shooting that killed a Lake County deputy and hurt two others is due in court on Tuesday.
