Georgia just earned some national recognition. Three cities and one nearby neighbor made Livability's list of the best places to live in the U.S. These spots are the standouts.

The Sun City landed in the No. 2 spot for the "Best Big Cities to Live in the U.S. in 2025-2026" list, beating out Austin, San Antonio and Houston.

According to the U.S. News & World Report's " 2025-2026 Best Places to Live " ranking, it is — and Volusia County’s own Ormond Beach is part of that list. The city appears at 162 out of 859 cities in a ranking that weighed five categories: quality of life, job market, value of living, net migration and desire to live in the area.

Smaller U.S. cities are also the most liveable in the country, according to this year's Global Liveability Index.
