Aldi buys three Big Lots stores as locations reopen nationwide
Grocery retail chain Aldi has purchased a small handful of Big Lots locations less than a year after Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced plans to close hundreds of stores.
Over 70 Big Lots stores to reopen this week; Here’s the full list
OHIO — More than 70 Big Lots stores will reopen this week, a Variety Wholesalers spokesperson confirmed to News Center 7. The discount retailer filed for bankruptcy and closed stores last year, but a new owner was found and stores are starting to reopen, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

Big Lots Is Making A Big Comeback Reopening 70 Stores After Bankruptcy
Fresh & Easy stores were an effort by British retail giant Tesco to break into the U.S. market, launching in 2007 in several Western states. Fresh & Easy went into bankruptcy protection in 2013, when dozens of its stores were sold to Yucaipa Companies. Fresh & Easy went into bankruptcy protection again in 2015, and the stores closed.
