Blue Jays get just enough offence (finally) to squeak past Royals in tight series opener
In yet another of their too-close-for-comfort wins, the Jays had to sweat through the ninth after reliever Nate Pearson gave up a leadoff single to Maikel Garcia. A two-out single from Salvadore Perez gave the Royals runners on the corners before Pearson struck out Michael Massey to lock down the save and a second Jays win in a row.
