At least 51 people were killed and more than 200 others injured by Israeli fire as they waited for aid trucks to arrive in Khan Younis in southern Gaza early Tuesday morning, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Israeli tanks fired into a crowd trying to get aid from trucks in the Gaza Strip yesterday, killing at least 59 people, according to medics, in one of the bloodiest incidents yet in mounting violence as desperate residents struggle for food.

Israeli attacks have killed at least 52 people across Gaza since dawn, medical sources told Al Jazeera, as the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution urging an unconditional ceasefire in the besieged enclave.
