McDonald's is not the only fast food chain that has used AI technology over the last few years. Restaurants like Wendy's , Taco Bell and KFC have implemented AI drive-thrus at some of its locations.

In June, McDonald's announced that the chain would stop using artificial intelligence to take drive-thru orders by the end of July after struggling to integrate the technology.

McDonald's learned that the hard way when it attempted a similar AI-ordering experience. The Golden Arches scrapped its plan in June after numerous failures that quickly went viral on TikTok.
