Measles is surging across the US with five new states reporting cases this week, including California, Minnesota and Washington.

Some 2,255 measles cases were recorded last year, marking the highest point in over 30 years.

The United States is on track to lose its measles elimination status within weeks as new cases continue to be reported daily.
