The Kraken are seeking their third head coach in as many seasons after firing Dan Bylsma. More moves are expected, including Ron Francis to president and Jason Botterill to GM.

It was Bylsma's first season as a coach in the NHL since 2016-17 with the Buffalo Sabres. He is 355-231-61 in 647 games with the Kraken, Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins, who he won the Stanley Cup with in 2009.

Bylsma and Campbell coached the Kraken’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, to back-to-back Calder Cup finals appearances before the coaches were promoted. Bylsma replaced Dave Hakstol, a coach of the year finalist in Seattle in 2023.
