Rescue workers finished evacuating dozens of passengers trapped for 23 hours mid-air Saturday after a cable car accident in southern Turkey that killed one person.
The stranded people had been stuck on the Tunektepe cable car, just outside the Mediterranean city of Antalya, since 5:30 p.m. on Friday, when the accident occurred.
The whole cable car system was immobilised while emergency workers tried to evacuate stranded passengers. An investigation into the accident has been opened, the justice ministry said.
