After three months of legal battles and lobbying, the Voice of America network is officially being reduced to a fraction of its pre-Trump form.

Kari Lake's media agency will lay off over 600 journalists from Voice of America, reducing personnel by 85% since March. Lake states the layoffs dismantle a "bloated, unaccountable bureaucracy" and end taxpayer funding of an agency plagued by "dysfunction, bias and waste."

It spells the death of 83 years of independent journalism that upholds U.S. ideals of democracy and freedom around the world,’ VOA White House Bureau Chief Patsy Widakuswara said.
