This noncontact method reduces the risk of cross contamination and has an accuracy within 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Ensuring clear, accurate results, it features a clear digital display with a 7-second hold.This product has not been submitted for FDA certification as a "Medical Grade" device, nor is it specifically designed for medical use. However, as a quality infrared thermometer, it can provide skin surface temperature readings that can be considered as a group to find anomalies that may warrant further attention or action. If using to determine the approximate exterior temperature of a human, hold the unit about 3/4 of an inch from the person's forehead. This should yield a general exterior skin temperature range.
