Like other college campuses across the country, students at the University of California, Berkeley joined the "Gaza Solidarity Encampment" protest, calling for the university system to stop investing money in companies that provide military aid to Israel.

On Tuesday morning, more than 50 tents were pitched outside of Sproul Hall at UC Berkeley, with students and organizers there asking that the university meet a number of demands – including divesting from Israel’s war on Palestine.
The students demonstrators are demanding UC Berkeley sever all ties with Israeli institutions and also to divest financially from companies supporting Israel.
Tents belonging to pro-Palestinian demonstrators have sprung up outside Sproul Hall at UC Berkeley, the home of the free speech movement. Their supporters grow by the day.
