Palm Sunday marks the last Sunday before Easter, and signals the beginning of Holy Week, an important period of prayer and reflection for Christians before the Resurrection of Jesus.

This morning, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, located at 419 Old Humboldt Road in Jackson, welcomed guests to join them in honoring Palm Sunday. A liturgy was held at the church which included the congregation taking part in a procession around the church holding blessed leaves of palms, some holding decorated candles, and singing.
