Former Iowa offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz didn’t even last a full offseason without a job. The man many held responsible for the Hawkeyes scoring woes is now headed to Big Ten rival Maryland, where he’ll serve as an offensive analyst.

Maryland is hiring Ferentz as an analyst, according to a Friday afternoon report from Scott Dochterman and Bruce Feldman of The Athletic. Ferentz, 41, served as Iowa's offensive coordinator from 2017 to '23.

Former Iowa Hawkeyes offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz did not take long before finding another coaching job in the Big Ten. The Maryland Terrapins hired him as an analyst.

Brian Ferentz, the son of Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, is a senior offensive assistant and does not count as one of the 10 on-field coaches.

“SOURCE: Maryland is expected to hire Brian Ferentz as an analyst for the Terps,” Feldman wrote in his tweet. “The 41-year-old, a former Patriots assistant, spent a decade at Iowa working as the Hawkeyes OL coach and later OC. He’d also coached TEs, RBs and QBs there. Pat Harty first reported the move.”

Maryland plans to hire former Iowa offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz as an offensive analyst, 247Sports reports. Ferentz will join the Terrapins as they enter their sixth season under coach Mike Locksley, who has led his team to three straight bowl games and has a 16-10 record over the past two seasons in College Park.
