The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced that it will investigate allegations of chart-rigging, known as sajaegi in Korea, by BTS’s agency Hybe, formerly Big Hit Entertainment.

The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has reportedly ordered an investigation into chart-rigging allegations against BTS and HYBE that came forward in 2017.

Army held a protest in front of Hybe’s headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul, on May 2 by sending condolence wreaths and trucks with large electronic display screens displaying words of protest. Hybe said the accusation that the company is using BTS as a shield makes no sense, and declined to comment further on the issue.

The fans' hashtag movement began Saturday night when local media reported that the Korean Culture Ministry said it would hand over a petition it received regarding the BTS case to the Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca).
