It's the rear-wheel drive Mazda we all have been waiting for, and comes with either a battery-electric or a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

With the news of a new electric sedan, the EZ-6, and an SUV option, the futuristic Arata, fans and drivers have quite a bit to celebrate. Mazda announced these newest and greenest additions recently at the Auto China 2024 expo.

Mazda unveiled two new EVs, the EZ-6 electric sedan and the Arata SUV, at the Beijing Auto Show. Although Mazda’s new EVs are for China, they are what the brand is missing in the US. Mazda’s first EV in the US, the MX-30, was discontinued after only 66 models were sold last year. It was only on the market for about two years.

Mazda unveiled a new sedan called EZ-6 at the Beijing auto show that looks like a follow-up to the 6. It also showed a crossover concept called Arata.

The current Mazda 6 has reached the point of obsolescence and has been discontinued in most markets. At Auto China in Beijing, the new luxury sedan from Mazda, named the EZ-6 with an electric drive, was introduced.
