Amazon electric trucks roll out for ocean freight uses at ports of LA, Long Beach
Amazon rolled out eight heavy-duty electric trucks now operating at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach on Tuesday, May 7 — with more to come by the end of the year. The original eight are part of a fleet of nearly 50 heavy-duty electric trucks from Volvo Trucks North America that will be operating in Southern California by the end of 2024 — a step toward the company’s goal to have net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
