Greg Daniels, who adapted Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s UK show “The Office” for American audiences, created “The Paper” with Michael Koman (“Nathan For You,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”). Gervais and Merchant are also producers of the new show.

The show, in which the documentary crew from The Office lands on a new subject, is called The Paper. It follows the publisher (Domhnall Gleeson) and staff of a historic but struggling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio.

This morning, it was revealed at NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation in New York City that the Greg Daniels and Michael Koman-produced comedy series The Paper will premiere on Peacock in September. A first-look photo shows Domhnall Gleeson standing on top of a desk talking to the employees,
