After passing the $1 billion mark at the global box office, Moana 2 is now one of the top 15 highest-grossing PG movies ever globally.

Moana 2” snared $442.8 million at the domestic box office and $567.1 million in international markets, the company posted over the weekend.

Nearly two months after earning the biggest Thanksgiving opening weekend in box office history, Disney’s “Moana 2” has passed $1 billion at the global box office.

Two Disney tentpoles, “ Mufasa: The Lion King ” and “ Moana 2 ,” are crossing major box office milestones. “Mufasa” has surpassed $500 million globally after four weeks of release, while “Moana 2” is poised to swim past the $1 billion mark with ticket sales currently at $989.9 million.

So far, moviegoing doesn't appear to be dramatically impacted in the greater L.A. area despite the historic fires raging across the region. Elsewhere at the box office, 'Better Man' bombed as it expanded nationwide.
