Since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, every ballot measure that has sought to preserve or expand abortion access has been successful.

Measures that would protect abortion access are on track to appear on the ballot in 10 states in November, but abortion opponents are engaged in last-ditch legal maneuvering to try to prevent voters from weighing in on the proposals.

Nebraska law prohibits abortion after 12 weeks, with some exceptions. One measure would effectively undo that law, while the other would codify it in the state’s constitution.
