The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards kicked off Sunday night at The Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, hosted by father-son duo Dan and Eugene Levy. “The Bear” and “Shōgun” lead the way with more than 20 nominations each — with “The Bear” breaking the record for scoring the most Emmy nominations in a single year for a comedy series.

These are the winners for the 2024 News & Documentary Emmy Awards, taking place September 25 & 26 at the Palladium Times Square in New York.

Lakota Nation vs. United States was named best documentary on night two of the 2024 News & Documentary Emmy Awards. The film counts Mark Ruffalo and Marisa Tomei among its executive producers. It was directed by Jesse Short Bull and Laura Tomaselli and produced by Benjamin Hedin and Phil Pinto, with all four serving as writers.

The three-part docuseries, presented by HBO in association with the Globe, was one of the night’s big winners.

Hacks' was named best comedy series, while 'Shogun' won best drama series. 'Baby Reindeer' won best limited or anthology series. 'The Bear' also was a big winner.

AMC+’s “Lakota Nation vs. United States” landed two of the top awards on Thursday at the documentary portion of the News & Documentary Emmys, landing the kudos for best documentary and for outstanding direction: documentary.
