An FBI agent was carjacked Wednesday in Washington, D.C., a theft that comes amid a sharp increase in the number of carjackings in the nation’s capital.

The FBI said one of its agents was carjacked in Washington D.C. around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The vehicle was recovered soon after.
