JERUSALEM/CAIRO (Reuters) -An Israeli airstrike hit Palestinians near a medical centre in Gaza on Thursday, killing 10 children and six adults, local health authorities said, as ceasefire talks dragged on with no immediate deal expected.

Bodies were seen lying in pools of blood after the strike, which the Israeli military said had targeted militant who took part in the October 7 Hamas attack.

Israeli air and ground attacks have killed at least 24 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera. Hospitals across the enclave continue to report growing casualties amid ongoing strikes.
