The hot conditions inside classrooms are the focus of a new piece of state legislation that sets a maximum classroom temperature of 88 degrees.
Just like in offices, however, there are no specific maximum temperatures for schools set out in law - and no maximum temperature where children would automatically be sent home.
Although there is currently no legal maximum temperature for classrooms, headteachers are able to send children home if they believe the heat is becoming a risk to their safety.
