National Coffee Day, which falls on Friday, Sept. 29, means free coffee (and discounted donut) at chains like Dunkin', Krispy Kreme, Peet's and more

National Coffee Day is Friday, Sept. 29, and local coffee shops and cafes are celebrating with coffee freebies, deals and specials. From lattes and drip coffee to complimentary sweets, here's where to go.

Sheetz stores will celebrate National Coffee Day by offering customers a free cold brew or nitro cold brew with the purchase of any item through the Sheetz app. This promotion, which also includes free add-ons like salted caramel cold foam, can be redeemed through the Sheetz app and is valid for any size cold brew at all of Sheetz’s 700 locations.

The Salty in Audubon Park is celebrating National Coffee Weekend this Friday through Sunday with 50% off all cold brew beverages, including Maple & Brown Sugar Cold Brew, Cold Brew, Cold Brew & Lemonade, and 50% off Batch Brew while supplies last.

Dunkin’ Rewards members can get a free coffee with purchase on National Coffee Day. There are a few limitations, however. The offer is valid Sept. 29 only and excludes espresso drinks, cold brews and nitro cold brews, according to a news release. Free coffees are limited to one per customer.

Krispy Kreme customers can get a free medium hot or iced coffee with no other purchase necessary this National Coffee Day. However, the chain is also running a deal allowing customers to buy one dozen glazed donuts and get a second dozen for $2 on Friday. The Nutmeg State has just one Krispy Kreme location in Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville.
