Michigan lawmaker faces sex assault investigation after 3 a.m. arrest Police recommended multiple felony charges, including assault and a weapons offense, against Republican state Rep. Neil Friske.

State Rep. Neil Friske, R-Charlevoix, was arrested in Lansing Thursday. He was released while police do additional investigation on possible charges.

The case was sent to the attorney general's office "based on potential crimes in multiple county jurisdictions," Ingham County Prosecutor John Dewane said.
