New Minnesota Wild coach John Hynes even got to spend some time with the men who fired him, current and former GMs Barry Trotz and David Poile.

The Minnesota Wild fired coach Dean Evason and assistant Bob Woods on Monday. John Hynes is the new head coach.

According to an NHL source, the team’s next coach will be John Hynes. He last coached Nashville from 2019-23, where he led the Predators to a 134-96-18 record in four seasons. Hynes and general manager Bill Guerin will address reporters on Tuesday at Xcel Energy Center, where the Wild are set to play host to St. Louis.
