CNN's announcement this week that it's hosting two Republican primary debates next month caught the New Hampshire college listed as a venue by surprise.

Neal Levesque, executive director of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics and Political Library at the college, wrote on X/Twitter on Friday that were in the dark on the network's plans, even though New Anselm was named as the locale of the event in CNN's announcement this week.

The Republican National Committee is expected to consider allowing presidential candidates to participate in other debates.

The debates offer some contenders additional opportunities to sway voters after Wednesday night’s debate in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

With Trump probably sitting out, the two candidates vying for second may be the only people onstage in the next two GOP debates.

CNN said Thursday it will host Republican candidate debates next month in Iowa and New Hampshire, the first events of their kind not sponsored by the Republican National Committee. The Iowa debate is being organized for Wednesday,
