On the night of May 20, a SpaceX rocket launched from Cape Canaveral for its first time. The mission was the latest batch of Starlink satellites.

Local advocacy groups argue the ambitious launch schedule could increase pollution, harm wildlife, and disrupt fishing.

The FAA is evaluating a SpaceX proposal to more than double the number of launches from the Space Launch Complex from 50 to 120 yearly.

However, environmental groups like Indian River Lagoon Roundtable and the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (SAFMC) have warned that 100 or more annual launches from the site could harm the ecosystem of the Florida space coast which has two launch sites - the Cape Canaveral and NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Depending on weather and clouds, rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral can be seen from Daytona Beach to Melbourne to Vero Beach
