With temperatures soaring past the average high, breaking records, and the possibility of the first triple-digit heat being in DFW this year, a First Alert Weather Day remains in place Wednesday. Parts of North Texas could see temperatures heading into the dangerous category,

The Dallas-Fort Worth area will be unseasonably scalding Wednesday, but other areas of Texas are expected to cook even more. The projected high for the metro area has hovered near 100 degrees all week and Wednesday’s most updated forecast from the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office has landed on 100 degrees exactly.

Triple-digit temperatures are forecasted for parts of the region — about 20 degrees above the seasonal average.
