Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the Supreme Court’s senior liberal, slammed the Trump administration’s handling of immigration matters in a fiery dissent Monday and accused her colleagues of “rewarding lawlessness” by backing its latest emergency appeal.

The justices have paused a lower-court decision that required the administration to give meaningful notice before sending people to countries they aren’t from.

The Supreme Court granted the Trump administration’s request to block a judge’s order that stopped the government from deporting certain immigrants to countries they aren’t from, or so-called third countries.
