A judge in Washington on Tuesday blocked most of Donald Trump's executive order targeting law firm Susman Godfrey, dealing the Republican U.S. president a new legal setback in its campaign against firms he disfavors.

President Donald Trump has claimed he is suing the law firm Perkins Coie which was the target of an executive order he signed last month. Trump claimed in a Truth Social post Wednesday that he was “suing” the Democratic-tied law firm for its “egregious and unlawful acts” and the conduct of one unnamed member of the firm.

On March 27, Trump ordered the federal government to stop working with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP (WilmerHale)—suspending the law firm’s security clearances, directing federal agencies to terminate contracts they have with the firm, and limiting WilmerHale employees’ access to government buildings.
