While the latest dynamic storm system brought times of showers & a few storms, the severe weather stayed to the south of the region. Low pressure shifts to the northeast into Sunday morning and could produce snow showers in the southeast parts of the area.

It's back to more typical weather for the Phoenix area this weekend as sunshine and warmer temperatures make a brief comeback.

The rain and snow will be present each of the next several days as waves of precipitation move through Oregon. The mountains will receive the bulk of the precipitation, in the form of snow, as they are going to squeeze out as much as they can.

A huge storm system crossing the U.S. threatens to unleash tornadoes Friday in the Mississippi Valley, blizzards in the northern Plains and dry, gusty conditions in Texas and Oklahoma that pose a high risk of wildfires.

National Guard and National Weather Service crews were dispatched to central and eastern United States after at least 52 tornadoes and wildfires in Oklahoma killed at least 44 people over the weekend.

At least 42 people are dead after powerful storms swept through the Midwest and South over the weekend and drenched parts of the Northeast.
