USDA Hardiness Zones 4-9Height 4-6 Feet TallSpread 2-3 Feet WidePruning Group 2Viva Polonia Clematis Vine is an easy-care climbing plant full of hot pink flowers with a white star center. Clematis is a popular climber for adding color to vertical structures such as trellises, poles and posts. The red and white flowers emerge in summer after the thin branches leaf out. Plant your clematis in the ground near a structure or as a stunning container climber. In a container, give this clematis a starring or background role and fill in with spring-blooming plants around the base. The unique blooms of Viva Polonia Clematis Vine appear in summer in zones 4 through 9 and continue blooming throughout the summer without deadheading. Once mature, your Viva Pelonia should reach nearly 6 feet high and 2 to 3 feet wide.Viva Polonia Clematis Vine CareClematis climbers grow best if the stems and blooms get partial to full sun and the roots stay shaded. If you can't find a location with those conditions, plant a low evergreen shrub near the roots for shade or mulch around the base of the plant to keep the roots cool. Viva Polonia Clematis belongs to pruning group 2, which means it blooms on both old wood and new wood, so just cut the vine back to between 18 inches and 3 feet long in the spring as soon as new growth appears on the stems. Pruning is not required though, and it could reduce the amount of blooms produced that year. Clematis vines have average water needs and do best in soil that drains well. Viva Polonia Clematis Vine SpacingIf planting several Viva Polonia Clematis vines on a pergola or as a screen, space the plants 3 to 5 feet apart. Then watch for a burst of vertical color each summer.Interesting Fact(s) - Developed by Polish breeder Szczepan Marczynski, 'Viva Polonia' gets its name because it shares the colors of the flag of Poland.Viva Polonia Clematis Vine Plant FactsUSDA Hardiness Zones: 4-9Flower Color(s): Red & WhiteBloom Period: SummerFoliage Color(s): GreenLight Exposure: Partial Sun to Full SunHeight Class: MediumHeight: 4-6 FeetSpread: 2-3 FeetSpacing: 3-5 FeetHabit: ClimbingWatering: AverageDrought Tolerant: NoFeatures: Deadheading Not Necessary; Long BloomingScientific Name: Viva Polonia' Clematis sp.
