Own Root - All of our David Austin rose bushes at Heirloom Roses are own root, which means they will produce more blooms, be more hardy, and stay true to variety throughout their lifetimes, contrary to grafted roses. One Gallon - All of our David Austin rose plants are 12-16 months old and delivered in one gallon containers with rich soil. Hardiness Zones: 5-10 Exceptionally Fragrant & Repeat Blooming - Will bloom in flushes throughout the growing season. Approximate Size: 4'-8' x 3'-4' - This is the indefinite size of the rose plant when it reaches full maturity. Upon delivery, roses will be around 12-15 inches tall and may be partially defoliated to ensure plant health during shipping. Subject to Amazon's 30 day warranty. Void if granular fertilizer has been used. Named for the Thomas Hardy novel, Tess of the dUrbervilles features large, fragrant, 4" flowers with 70+ petals in a bright crimson color. Her blooms have a nice, deeply curved shape in the early stages, and then her petals turn back to a less formal flower. Tess blooms are hefty and usually bend over, giving an elegant, cascading effect to the bush. Her growth is robust and spreads against large, dark green foliage. We love Tess old rose and fruity-myrrh fragrance and that she is a generous, repeat bloomer. She can handle partial shade or pots and makes an excellent Climber.
