Description

The Snow Girl™ Gardenia is one of the new breed of gardenias - so much easier to grow than the old classic double-flower varieties. Large single blooms of pure white are carried in profusion in spring, followed by further flushes of bloom through summer and into the fall. Excellent deep-green glossy foliage on a low, broad shrub that is the perfect edger, path liner or space-filler when mass planted. Lovely in pots too, which can be left outdoors in the hottest zones, or brought into a bright environment for the winter, if you live in cooler zones. A very lovely change from the old, hard-to-grow classic gardenia, and of course it still has the same tropical perfume so coveted by top perfumiers. - Large single flowers in profusion in spring, with repeat blooming right into the fall - Low, broad evergreen with handsome foliage, ideal for borders and mass planting - Different look, but the same classical scent of gardenia blossoms - Dense growth needs no trimming, and much tougher and more reliable than old gardenia varieties - Thrives in acidic soils and partial shade, in all warmer zones The ideal spot for your Snow Girl™ Gardenia will be well-lit, but protected from hot afternoon sun. Rich acidic soil that is steadily moist will make it grow perfectly. If you dont have acidic soil, opt for pot growing, using blended soil for acid-loving plants. Keep the soil evenly moist - not too wet, and not too dry. Much tougher and more hardy than older varieties, and usually free of pest problems. Needs no trimming for a handsome low, mounded look. If you do trim, do it only after the spring flower flush, as trimming at other times will reduce blooming.
