Inaba Shidare Japanese Maple is a vigorous, faster growing variety that brightens the landscape in summer with its maroon foliage. The deep purple leaves retain their color better than others in the hot summer months. The rich maroon laceleaf foliage becomes crimson in the fall, and the cascading branches are attractive during the winter after the leaves have fallen. Grows up to 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide in 20 years. Prefers moist well drained soil. Hardy in USDA zones 5 to 8. Little pruning is necessary, however, if needed, prune during dormant season and avoid pruning in spring when sap is running. Each offer includes one ornamental tree grown in a 2.25 gallon pot.
